A man has been charged with a series of offences after spraying petrol over cars at a garage.
On Sunday, June 4 at around midday, police rushed to the Esso garage on Shoppenhangers Lane after a man was seen spraying cars with petrol.
A police cordon was enforced for several hours while police made the scene safe and cleared the area of petrol.
Thames Valley Police arrested the perpetrator.
The individual has now been named as Gary Atterton, aged 39, of Boyn Valley Road, Maidenhead.
Atterton has been charged with one count each of attempted arson with intent to endanger life, bomb hoax, possession of a controlled drug of class A, namely cocaine, possession of a controlled drug of class B, namely cannabis, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, possession of a bladed article in a public place and threatening to damage property, today (June 5).
He was remanded in custody and appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court today, where he was further remanded in custody.
Atterton is due to appear at Reading Crown Court on July 10.
