Lidl has revealed it is looking to open 'multiple' branches in Slough as part of a huge national expansion.

In a list of 'priority locations', Slough has been listed as a location the major supermarket is keen to open new stores.

Slough is already home to two Lidl's, one located on the Farnham Road and another in Slough Retail Park on the Bath Road.

The latter opened just last year, boasting a new bakery and the creation of 40 new jobs.

The brand is offering a 'finder's fee' to anyone who spots a good site for a new store.

The firm is aiming to have more than 1,100 stores across the UK in total, building on its current total of around 950.

Potential locations would be for high street, standalone, mixed use, or shopping centre stores, or retal parks.

Criteria for the proposed Lidl sites include being in locations with easy access as well as either strong pedestrian or traffic flow.

Additionally, there should also have space for at least 100 car parking spaces and at least 1.5 acres for standalone stores or up to four acres for mixed-use schemes.
