Over £26,700 has been raised for five charities at a local Action Fair.

On Saturday, March 18, Eton Action Fair saw visitors from surrounding areas enjoy games, food, raffles and musical performances.

Attendees travelled from Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead to join parents and friends of pupils at Eton College for the day.

The total sum of money is to be collated and distributed to five charities that will each receive an equal share of the money raised.

Charities to receive money include; Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust, The OSCAR Foundation, Slough Food Bank, Fulham Reach Boat Club and The Dusty Yak Foundation.

In total, the fair hosted 32 charities and 34 local businesses. Of all the attractions, the Ocean Express Play Bus and Berkshire Birds of Prey experiences were found to be the most popular.

Eleanor Chownsmith, Eton Connect Coordinator at Eton College, said: “Everyone always comes together to make the Eton Action Fair happen. We are honoured to host the fair each year and we are so proud of all the boys and staff who volunteered their time to support.

"We hope the funds raised have the biggest impact possible for our nominated charities, all of which are incredible causes.”
