AN award-winning young artist from Slough is to appear on TV in a competition to find the nation's best young artist.

Siyona Bhandari is a 14-year-old from Langley and is one of 27 teens to have been selected for CBBC's Britain's Best Young Artist show.

The programme is aimed at showcasing the talent of young artists, who have gone through a nationwide selection process to earn their place.

Siyona said: “Being on the show has been a wonderful and enriching experience for me.

"I am glad that I learned a lot of new styles and techniques of art besides meeting other artists and famous personalities.

"It was very interesting to be a part of what happens behind the scenes of filming and how much hard work and effort is put into making the show.

"The production team was fun to work with as we played games in between the filming.

"I am very grateful for having a chance to showcase my ideas and art on a huge platform.”

Siyona has previously showcased her talent having won the Thames Chase Children's Art Competition in 2022 and landing second place in the international art competition Look and Learn in 2018.

The CBBC show is presented by Jessie Cave alongside judges Ricky Martin and Sadie Clayton.

CBBC's Britain's Best Young Artist began airing on Monday, February 13, with the programme airing at 6pm Monday to Thursday for three weeks.

All episodes will also be available to watch on iPlayer.
