LEGOLAND Windsor could build a new indoor adventure golf course with four exciting themes if councillors are given the go-ahead.

The famous theme park in Winkfield Road could see a new addition as part of its other scheme to build a holiday village, which includes new overnight visitor accommodation.

The proposed attraction, which could be built on part of the car park, could have four individually themed golf courses, including a pirate-themed one.

The planning statement states: “It will increase the attractiveness of the Park throughout the year and in the future, it will provide an easily accessible indoor attraction for holiday village guests.”

The new Adventure Golf Indoor Attraction will be a new secondary ‘support’ ride. It will provide an additional indoor attraction for guests to the park and to the hotel, which is open for additional periods out of season when the main park is closed.

Although Legoland insists the building has been designed to sit discreetly within the park, it would result in a loss of 131 car parking spaces.

But planning officers deemed this acceptable as the occupancy rate on the existing car park has dropped and additional parking is included with the holiday village under separate plans.

Furthermore, it is considered that the new indoor attraction would lead to negligible additional traffic on the highway.

Councillors sitting on the Windsor and Ascot development management panel will decide on the plans on Wednesday, January 4.

If plans are approved, Legoland is subject to securing a financial contribution to offset its carbon emissions during development.
