A HOTEL and restaurant that sits on the river in Maidenhead, has reopened following a two-year closure, which left many residents fearing for its future.
With numerous plans to develop the site into flats declined, the Thames Riviera has now proudly reopened to the public boasting a new look following a series of renovations.

All 51 bedrooms have been completely refurbished with new décor, furniture, bedding, and bathrooms.
Meanwhile, three self-contained apartments have been added which can be reserved for longer corporate or weekend booking.
The main bar and restaurant have also been completely refurbished to a high standard and bi-fold doors have been introduced overlooking the River Thames.
"The warm summer months are going to be fantastic," said a spokesperson from Thames Riviera.
"The hotel and restaurant now have a very contemporary feel to them with the new Head Chef introducing some exceptional dishes."
The Thames also has three private function rooms that can be hired out.
A full programme of events for 2023 is in the works, with the restaurant telling customers to 'watch this space' for further details which will be published in the New Year.
There is also a completely new team at the hotel with many years of experience.
Andrew MacLachlan General Manager stated, “This is a very exciting time in the hotel’s history.”
