The countdown to Christmas has begun, but there is rarely one Christmas.

There’s the friend’s Christmas, the family Christmas, the work Christmas do – and no one has the energy to cook that many Turkeys.

So we’ve rounded up some of the restaurants and hotels in Slough where people reviewed their Christmas dinner favorably.

The Duke’s Head

This Farnham Road pub is rated 19th out of 168 Slough restaurants, with 4.5 of 5 on Tripadvisor.

Reviewers called its Christmas lunched “excellent” and the “best meal in a long time.”

Roast dinner was “ample” and the profiterole and cheese selection was “huge.”

The price was also highlighted as one of the reasons punters enjoyed the venue.

The Red Lion

With another 4.5 out of 5 rating, The Red Lion in Mary’s Road is just as good an option for Christmas dinner.

The pub has a “fabulous” atmosphere at Christmas time, with a “warm, cosy vibe,” according to one reviewer.

Servers and chefs were described as “incredible” as customers felt “well-looked after” during their stay.

Toby Carvery

For those who want something more familiar, the London Road branch of the chain has been praised for its Christmas dinner.

Portions were generous and a wide range of food was available, according to reviews.

One man’s experience of an Christmas party was that the staff were attentive and “nothing was too much trouble” for them.

But at 3.5 out of 5 stars, there does appear to be some room for improvement at the venue.

The Pinewood Hotel

Christmas lunched was called “fantastic” by one happy customer.

She said the staff were “amazing” and the food arrived all at once and piping hot.

The hotel, in Wrexham Park Lane, comes in at a respectable 3.5 out of 5 stars, or ‘very good’ on Tripadvisor, putting it at number 10 out of 27 hotels.
