SLOUGH Borough Council enters into a new partnership with a Maidenhead arts venue to make The Curve into a key cultural community hub.

Arts Council England is set to invest nearly £1m, which will be delivered across three years from 2023, into Norden Farm in Maidenhead to create a partnership with Slough Borough Council.

This is in a bid to increase youth engagement in the arts in Slough as investment has been historically low in that area.

This new partnership hopes to develop The Curve as a key cultural community hub and create free programmes and opportunities for children and young people, particularly from disadvantaged backgrounds, in Slough and the Royal Borough to get involved.

These involve creative workshops led by experienced practitioners, new art disciplines for children to hone their skills and explore their creativity, and new projects that involve emerging technology such as virtual reality.

Arts Council England noted that the application “demonstrates a good contribution to the creative people and cultural communities outcomes is likely” and that the “proposed activity is likely to increase engagement in Slough.
