Council leader Andrew Johnson said the local authority was “honoured and humbled” that Her Majesty’s coffin will process down The Long Walk. The UK’s longest-serving monarch sadly passed away last week, aged 96.

After the Queen’s lying in state ends at 6:30am on Monday, September 19, the funeral service will take place at 11am at Westminster Abbey.

A national two-minute silence will be held at midday. After that, the coffin will travel to Wellington Arch and then to St George’s Chapel via The Long Walk, where a private committal service will see her finally laid to rest.

The Procession to Windsor Castle along The Long Walk will start at 3.10pm and will include members of the Armed Forces, emergency services and Her Majesty’s personal staff, with the Committal Service at 4pm.

The Procession will take place in Albert Road and The Long Walk. There will be no ceremonial move through Windsor town centre.

Cllr Johnson said: “The Queen saw Windsor as her home, and we’re sure that many people from the town, and further afield, will want to come and pay their respects before Her Majesty is laid to rest.
