A CURED meat business founder said he is “chuffed” to be one of the winners of this year’s Great Taste Awards.
Bray Cured, on Windsor Road, Bray, was given two gold stars for its Bray Cured Flower Meadow Hogget Bresaola.
And the business was also given one gold star for its Berkshire Salami, Cacao Spice Venison, Old Fashioned Salami and Berkshire Pestle.
Founder Alex Mugan said waiting for the results to come through on awards day was “a bit like getting GCSEs again”.
He said: “It was a nervous wait, but we were really chuffed.
“We were delighted that the products were recognised, especially because each represents a collaboration between Bray Cured and one or more local suppliers of meat, cheese and wine.
“It's all about creating charcuterie that's got real local roots, a taste of this place, because this is such a brilliant area for produce and producers.”
Mr Mugan added he hopes to get a few more awards next year.
