TWO boys from Windsor were chosen to row for England in an annual rowing event.

Charlie Warren and Charlie Ingham, year 13 students from The Windsor Boys School, were picked to take part in the Home International Countries Regatta on Saturday, July 23.

The annual challenge match between Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales, provides an opportunity for rowards and coaches alike to gain their first taste of international competition.

The duo won two gold medals at the event.

The teams comprise of four separate categories including Senior Men, Senior Women, Junior Men and Junior Women.

Sean Furness, headteacher at The Windsor Boys School, said: “It is such a wonderful achievement for both the boys, who embody everything that The Windsor Boys School Boat Club stands for; dedication, commitment and a great attitude.

“To be successful at international level caps an incredible season for them both, and everyone at the school is very proud of them.”

Director of rowing at The Windsor Boys School Mark Wilkinson said: “A fantastic end to their U19 careers which have been full of success but still just the start.

“Both of them have bright futures in the sport and both have been outstanding athletes at The Windsor Boys School.”
