A PROBED councillor is to have a code of conduct hearing this week over allegedly trespassing on private land.

In July 2021, the Local Democracy Reporting Service reported a woman lodged an official complaint against National Flood Prevention Party member Ewan Larcombe (Datchet, Horton & Wraysbury) for allegedly trespassing on her land in Wraysbury.

The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said she felt “scared and intimidated” when she saw Cllr Larcombe and a Wraysbury parish councillor near a ditch by her gated land, fearing they could take her dogs.

According to the woman, Cllr Larcombe confronted her over her lack of maintenance of waterworks that are part of her land during his visit on June 17.

Cllr Larcombe said the ditch is “blocked solid” and is obstructing water flow to the Splash in Wraysbury. The woman denies this, saying the waterways flow well and parts are maintained by Volker Highways.

The police were called but said they wouldn’t show up as it was a “civil matter”.

At a Datchet parish council meeting on Monday, July 11, Cllr Larcombe revealed he has a code of conduct hearing this week where councillors sitting on the members standard sub-committee will decide if he breached the code.

Cllr Larcombe said: “I wasn’t there to cause an issue. I didn’t cause any damage. I did climb over a barbed-wire fence with my fellow parish councillor, and we photographed a deliberate blockage where plywood had been installed to stop the water flow.”
