DID you know that Berkshire has a ‘secret’ cinema that not many people know about?

Norden Farm Centre for Arts, in Maidenhead, hosts a range of events including concerts, plays, workshops and much more.

But some people may not know it also has its very own cinema, which shows a variety of movies.

It features an eight metre wide screen, 4K projection and Dolby Surround Sound.

And it puts on showings for indie film favourites, event cinema, world cinema, family films and the major blockbusters.

The arts venue also offers relaxed screenings, socially-distanced screenings and Talking Tables screenings.

Upcoming movies include Top Gun: Maverick, Jurassic World Dominion, Swan Song, Between Two Worlds and All My Friends Hate Me, Elvis and Minions: The Rise of Gru.

Visitors can even enjoy free parking, an on-site café and ice cream in the courtyard outside prior to the showing.

Artistic director Jane Corry said: "The Norden Farm cinema is the only cinema in the area with such an eclectic offer.

"From world cinema to art house and documentaries - the programme is unique.

"As an independent we get to choose exactly what we think will be interesting to our audiences.

"We just love great movies. Movies that absolutely deserve to be seen on a big screen so you can fully experience every minute detail of photography and sound.

"Velvet seats, theatre atmosphere and a perfectly poured gin & tonic combine for my perfect cinema going, together with that warm fuzzy feeling of being surrounded by other people who really and truly love cinema."

Ms Corry added no one is on their phone or munching on popcorn at Norden Farm.

"They are engrossed, transported, taken away from the everyday into other worlds," she added.

"I love how the different screening formats reach out to different communities and how the Farm is home to them all."

But she said maybe people will come for the most extraordinary movie moments, they'll see other stuff going on and become intrigued.

She said: "Maybe you’ll join the Guitar Club or book in a Flamenco lesson.

"Maybe you’ll buy a ticket to see Harry Hill live in the theatre or to see some New Orleans jazz from Don Vappie?

"Cinema at Norden Farm is just the start."
