A TOURIST in Windsor was reunited with his wallet, thanks to two determined police officers.

While on patrol in Windsor town centre on June 26, PCSO David Bullock and PC Matt Gleave were handed a wallet by a member of public which was found on the floor outside the Guild Hall.

PCSO Bullock and PC Gleave checked the contents to see if they could find out the name and address of the owner.

They managed to figure out the person was a tourist form the US and it contained bank cards, an electronic car key fob and other essential items.

Knowing the owner would need his wallet, the two officers were determined to get it back to him and went to Coach Park to speak to the drivers.

One coach driver mentioned they did have a man from California on the tour and he was still in town.

There was also a hotel room card in the wallet, so the pair phoned the hotel and asked them to contact the owner to let them know the wallet had been handed in.

The man phoned them back to say he was in one of the restaurants beside the Guild Hall.

The very grateful tourist was handed back his wallet by the officers and they explained it was “a nice ending to a shift and a very happy customer.”
