A THEATRE in Windsor was transformed into a film set this week.

Theatre Royal Windsor is gearing up for its next show season but in recent weeks it has been the home to an exciting film crew.

The name of it has been temporarily changed to the Duke's Theatre as part of the film shoot.

And some locals captured great snaps of the set from outside the building.

Whing Hnoi Chan took photos of the signage at the theatre, which features productions such as The Three Musketeers, The Cherry Orchard, A Doll's House, Charley's Aunt, Chelsea Follies, The Duchess of Padua, and Daphne.

A vintage car, which was also spotted, was parked up in front of the theatre as crew members set up for the shoot days.

With lots of social media rumours floating around, locals have reported award-winning movie star George Clooney could potentially be directing the film.

The actor recently started filming for a new drama this year called The Boys in the Boat, which is set to be released in 2023.

But others think Sir Ian McKellan might be starring in the film but we'll have to wait and see what it is when it hits the big screen.
