THE HEADTEACHER of a primary school in Slough said she is “extremley proud” of their latest Ofsted report.

Iqra Primary School, on Wexham Road, received a ‘good’ rating following inspections on March 22 and 23.

But inspectors explained in their report there is enough evidence to suggest it could be judged ‘outstanding’ if they were to do a section five inspection.

The report stated: “Leaders and pupils make sure that the values of ‘we learn, we lead, we inspire’ shine brightly throughout this school.

“Pupils love to talked about all that they have learned, both with each other and adults.”

Inspectors added pupils are “very happy” at school.

The report explained leaders have created a strong community that care about everyone.

It added: “Pupil leaders are rightly proud of the help they give on the playground, including being buddies to those who are upset or lonely.

“Incidents of bullying are extremely rare and adults deal with any incidents quickly if they happen.”

And inspectors found the students also contribute to the wider community with donations to the local food bank and litter picking.

The report also praised the school’s “broad and highly ambitious curriculum”, which is learnt by all pupils including those with special needs.

Other areas that have received a positive response include the students behaviour, learning to read, the pupils’ vocabulary.

Headteacher Dr Maher said: "Our curriculum is highly ambitious for all our pupils.

"Providing them with a rich diet of vocabulary is just one of the ways we ensure pupils develop subject specific vocabulary in all subjects.

"I am extremely proud of all my pupils, they were the stars who shone brightly on the inspection days."
