BUSINESSES at Windsor’s Royal archways are gearing up celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next week.

Brits will be given a four-day bank holiday weekend from Thursday, June 2, to Sunday, June 5, in celebration of Her Majesty the Queen’s 70 years of service where a whole range of celebrations are planned across the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

And small businesses at the Windsor royal archways will also be playing their part by decorating their stores with buntings and flowers in honour of the Platinum Jubilee.

Babs Barnes, head of marketing at Lavender Green said, “We are thrilled to be enjoying our first full summer since Covid restrictions have eased – and Windsor is such a special place to be. We supply flowers for Royal Windsor Horse Show, Royal Ascot, Queens, Wimbledon and local weddings at venues such as Cowarth Park. This all comes from our humble railway arch. Now with the Jubilee, we are finding demand has rocketed and we are providing flowers for street parties across the town.”

MOT garage M&T Engineering on Alma Road has been in the local community since 1968 and, in January 2000, was awarded the Royal Warrant for Vehicle Servicing and Repairs.

“The arches are in a central location in the historic and thriving business area and it’s great to see them being so successful.

“Windsor is busy with lots of Jubilee activities and celebrations throughout this year to thank Her Majesty The Queen for her 70 years of dedicated service.”

The Arch Company, which is the largest landlord of small businesses in the country, announced it will be investing significantly into revamping Windsor’s derelict railway arches, with works already underway as more and more businesses are looking for centrally located spaces.
