A MUSIC producer took to the streets of Slough and Windsor to create awareness of the knife amnesty this week.

Stevoss, founder of Love Music Hate Violence, of Langley, entertained the crowds on Saturday, May 14 with his music and gave a talk on why he wants young people to stop using knives.

The nationwide campaign Operation Spectre, running until May 22, gives people the opportunity to dispose of a knife or bladed article safely and anonymously.

Its aim is to remove dangerous weapons from the streets, reduce knife crime and raise awareness of the dangers of carrying a knife.

Stevoss said what happened at Trelawney Avenue earlier this month was “very sad” so he wanted to raise awareness to young people in the area.

Pitching up in Windsor town centre first, Stevoss was joined by Miss Sensi and DJ Pyronite to provide live music to passers by.

He said: “Windsor was insane, as well as the music we also did a bit of a talk outlining the reason why we were there and we just wanted to tell these young people to make good choices and to not get involved in gang culture.

“I had a big crowd of people, adults and youths, and even when we went to Slough High Street later in the day we had lots of young people walk passed us making heart signs and agreeing with our message we were putting out.”

Stevoss added he didn’t want to create a morbid atmosphere in the town.

He said: “Your lives are precious, a guy lost his life last week and we're just trying to spread the message that people should treat each other with love and kindness.

“The better we make this community the more it will become a better place for us to live.”
