A DEVELOPER is set to change a house into a children’s home to meet ‘vital needs’ in the community.
This is just one of the many applications submitted to the local authorities in Slough, Windsor, and Maidenhead in the past seven days.

Plans submitted to build nine flats at The Frith, Brockenhurst Road, Ascot (22/01187/FULL).
Applicant Nicholas Daley wants to demolish the existing four apartment block and construct nine flats, including new trees, landscaping, and parking.
The developer has proposed the building to be 2.5-storeys in height with a mix of one one-bed, six two-bed, and two three-bedroom dwellings.
The proposal also includes the demolition of the garages along the northern edge of the site and its replacement with surface car parking

The precise number of car parking spaces is not detailed in the design and access statement but outlines there will be 1.5 spaces per flat.
Royal Borough planning officers are yet to decide to grant planning permission.
Home to be transformed into a children’s daycare at 91 Granville Avenue, Slough (P/05004/004).
The intention is to create a residential children’s home for up to two looked after children or young people, with up to two full-time residential carers’, one sleeping overnight, one waking overnight, and living as a single household, within the existing three-bedroomed family house.
The children will be placed with child-caring company Culina Rac under the care of their local authority. The premises will be fully registered with education watchdog Ofsted.
There are no works proposed for the existing external appearance.

The design and access statement states: “The home will be treated as a family household, and their staff will have the suitable qualifications and a wealth of experience to manage children in their care who may have challenging behaviour.”
Culina Rac has said this type of care is ‘vitally needed’ in Slough as well as across the country. Slough planning officers approved the scheme.
A piano teacher wants to convert a flat into a tutoring room at 203 Clarence Road, Windsor (22/01149/FULL).
Windsor Piano School wants to change the first-floor apartment to provide additional teaching rooms for piano lessons.
The music school has been around for 12 years and is now seeking to rectify a planning breach that would allow the applicant to use the apartment in its entirety with no internal changes for piano tuition.
Whilst there is no official parking space allocated to the Piano School there are two parking spaces adjacent to the premises. Which can be used as temporary parking for picking up and dropping off students during their sessions.
