A STUDENT who wrote a letter to The Queen was “ecstatic” when he received a surprising response this week.

Nikhil Rullay, a Year One pupil at Phoenix Infant Academy, on Warrington Avenue, Slough, spent days writing his letter to Her Majesty asking her to visit the school.

He included the things he likes about his school, the school dinners her prefers and what The Queen would enjoy about a visit to Phoenix Infants.

Parents Adesh Davit-Rullay and Rajinder Kumar said: “After completing the letter, Nikhil was adamant that he wanted to send it to The Queen, so his parents submitted a photocopy to school and posted the original.”

This week, Nikhil received a reply in the post, and he was “ecstatic” that she had read his letter.

Principal Kate Pelazza added: “All staff felt incredibly proud of Nikhil and agreed that the letter was a very kind gesture for a little boy. 

“Thank you to Her Majesty, and please remember, Nikhil's offer to visit Phoenix Infant Academy will always stand.”
