Burglars are increasingly targeting gold belonging to Slough residents with South Asian heritage, police warned.
The force said they saw a ‘noticeable increase in recent days’ in the type of burglary.
Many of the victims were of Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi heritage, police said.

Thames Valley Police advised residents to consider the following steps:
• Storing valuables in a safety deposit box or bank vault.
• Cecurity measures such as CCTV, alarms and marking jewellery with a forensic marking product.
• Timer switches to turn on lights during hours of darkness.
• Don’t advertise jewellery or when you are away online – don’t post photos of your jewellery on social media, and be careful mentioning holidays or extended absences from home.
• Avoid posting about Weddings, festivals and other celebrations where someone may be able to identify that you are not at home or that you own high value jewellery.
