AN AMATEUR dramatics society is warming up their voices in preparation for its’ annual pantomime this month.

The Wraysbury Players, based at Wraysbury Village Hall, will present its next production of The Pied Piper.

Directed by Lynn Holden, a former teacher and member of the society for six years, the cast features a range of adults and youngsters.

And this year’s cast is one of the largest the group have had with members who are usually behind the scenes taking on acting roles.

Ms Holden said: “Like so many amateur dramatic groups, The Wraysbury Players had to take a break due to the pandemic, the first time in their 55 year history.

“It was with great excitement that they announced back in the autumn that they would be putting the pantomime, and while it has often been a fraught few months for rehearsals, The Players are thrilled that this much anticipated panto will be going ahead.”

With pantomimes being primarly family shows, the society seems to have taken this concept literally this year.

New members include a father and son, Stevan and Ronnie Glove, taking on key roles.

And father and daughter, Jim Minter and Tamasine Martin will step onto the stage together.

Other family combos include the Wordham sisters, Emily and Rose both on stage, with Daisy working with the set designers behind the scenes.
