The Home Bargains store that is due to open in The Peel Centre could soon have the right to sell alcohol all day.

The company has applied to sell alcohol from midnight to 11.59pm every night.

In order for the sales to take place, Home Bargains has had to submit a licence application to Bracknell Forest Council.

Home Bargains sells a range of beers, ciders, wines and spirits at its stores.

It is debatable whether Home Bargains will end up selling alcohol late into the night however, as its branch in Reading typically closes at 8pm from Monday to Saturday, and 5pm on Sundays.

Details on how long Home Bargains intends to open on a day by day basis in Bracknell have not been given so far.

In October, the company submitted a planning application to make changes to the unit it will be occupying in The Peel Centre, but no intended opening hours were given.

It will be replacing Next, which closed its Peel Centre store in September 2020. Next maintains a shop at The Avenue in The Lexicon shopping centre.

Home Bargains is set to open on Saturday, February 26, 2022.

Licensing matters in Bracknell Forest are handled by the Public Protection Partnership, which also handles public protection matters in West Berkshire and Wokingham Borough.

Wokingham Borough is set to leave the PPP in April next year, but will hire out some of its services in a ‘hybrid model’ which was agreed in September.
