An 18-year-old woman was reportedly ‘stabbed’ in Reading in broad daylight yesterday (Wednesday), police say.

One man was arrested in connection with the incident on Wensley Road and police have confirmed he remains in their custody as of this morning (Thursday).

Police believe the attacker knew the victim, who was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries but has now been discharged.

Coley Park flats warden Oliver said: "This is the first time I have seen this happen in broad daylight. I have certainly not seen something like this in three months. Hopefully, it is an isolated incident."

The police cordon set up in Coley Park at 2pm yesterday has now been removed and an investigation is ongoing.
