WINDSOR’S newly built Aldi store is set to open in two weeks – and will officially be opened by a Team GB gold medallist.

After years of planning and redeveloping the old garden centre in Dedworth Road, the German discount supermarket will be opened to the public on Thursday, November 4 at 8am.

The new store will be run by Store Manager Joshua Bollam along with a team of 30 colleagues from the local community.

It will open Mondays to Saturdays from 8am to 10pm and on Sundays from 10am to 4pm.

On opening day, the Olympic BMX gold medallist Bethany Shriever will be joining the Aldi team to cut the ribbon.

Bethany Shriever said: “I’m so excited to be opening Aldi’s new store, it will be great to chat to customers and a lovely way for me to thank Aldi for its support of Team GB.”

Customers will be offered fresh, British meat products with weekly offers, exclusive Beers, Wines and Spirits, and a ‘Food to Go’ section at the front of the store. Aldi’s Specialbuys will also be available in the middle aisle every Thursday and Sunday, offering a wide range of products, from electrical items to garden tools.

Aldi Store Manager Joshua Bollam said: “We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store in Windsor. It’s set to be a special day and having Olympic hero Bethany Shriever join us will make it a morning to remember.”
