EMERGENCY services have been dealing with an incident between Staines and Windsor and Eton Riverside train stations.

Thames Valley Police has not yet confirmed the incident but South Western Railway has received reports of a person being struck by a train between the two areas.

It said: "Our response teams are working with the emergency services to assist with the incident. In order to allow emergency services access to the railway all power to the track will need to be switched off in the affected area."

All lines were blocked for several hours after the incident around 2pm.

The railway service provider said trains between Waterloo and Windsor & Eton Riverside would run between Waterloo and Staines in both directions.

Replacement buses were also provided on to run on the following routes: Staines - Windsor & Eton Riverside.

Tickets were accepted at no extra cost on the following services;

  • Great Western Railway between Windsor Central and London Paddington 
  • London Underground between Paddington and Waterloo 
  • First Bus route 8 in the Staines and Windsor areas 

The rail provider has confirmed all services are back to normal and no more delays should be encountered.
