A 13-YEAR-OLD BOY who was celebrating his birthday with friends was robbed of his brand new bike after he was chased by a man carrying a knife in a park.

Police are now searching for the man, who was described as wearing gardening gloves at the time of the incident.

The boy was sitting near the gym area of Deerwood Park, Cippenham, when his friends noticed a man coming towards them.

He tried to run away with the bike as his friends had already fled the scene.

In an effort to get away the boy dropped his bike and turned round to see the man taking it away.

The incident took place on Tuesday, September 28 and 5.55pm.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the robbery.

The bike is a Riverside 500 grey and red hybrid and the man was described as being of an athletic build, around six foot tall and aged in his late teens or early twenties.

He was wearing a light green hooded top with a dark green body warmer over the top, a red triangle bandana covering his face and light blue gardening gloves.

Staff investigator, Lynn Brandon, based at Slough police station, said: “This incident took place on the victim’s birthday when we was celebrating with his friends. This incident will now have a memorable effect on him for the wrong reasons.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed, or has information about this incident, to please come forward.
