POLICE were called to reports of 'gunshots' in Maidenhead yesterday.
Worried residents in Cox Green and White Paddock contacted Thames Valley Police after they heard loud gunshot sounds fired.
The bangs were actually pyrotechnics on aircrafts taking part in displays at White Waltham Airfield.
Police said: "We have received a number of reports of potential gunshots in the Cox Green and White Paddock area of Maidenhead this afternoon, but I would like to reassure residents that the noises were pyrotechnics on aircrafts taking part in displays at White Waltham Airfield!"

People said the noises 'scared the life' out of them yesterday afternoon.
One person said: "OK. But maybe 9/11 wasn't the most respectful date to do it on."
Another added: "Might have been helpful if they'd let us living nearby know what was happening scared the life out of us."
