SUMMER workshops for young people are being held at a Swindon performing arts company.

Revolution Performing Arts is hosting five-day sessions for four to 11 year olds and their older siblings at Legge House in Wroughton from August 16 to 20.

Four more sessions for the same age group will be at Even Swindon Community Centre from August 23 to 26 along with five sessions at Shrivenham Memorial Hall from August 23 to 27.

The sessions will include vocal workshops, dance, acting, songwriting and physical theatre workshops, arts and crafts loom bands, den building, outdoor water fun, Nerf guns (without bullets) and other outdoor activities.

Founder Fi Da Silva Adams said: “With Covid affecting so many young people’s mental health this year, I thought it was time to bring back some lovely fun, encouraging young people to let loose, feel free, joyous and fabulous.”

All the courses start at 9.30am and finish at 3.30pm, each costing £30 per day with a 10 per cent discount for a whole week booking and a further 10 per cent sibling discount.

They also accept HAF funding and childcare vouchers.

Spaces are limited in order to meet each young person’s individual requirements and have high adult : young person ratios. All RPA leaders have enhanced DBS police checks and have received full safeguarding and first aid training.

Fi added: “Young people need to feel great now more than ever, so I am doing all I can to help. Please give a shout out to all your friends and family and let’s make some amazing memories this summer!”
