A section 60 order put in place yesterday has been extended a further 12 hours until 9.30am tomorrow () morning.

A Section 60 is different to normal stop and search, as it gives police the right to search people without reasonable grounds. This can only happen in a defined area at a specific time when a senior officer believes there is a possibility of serious violence, or weapons are involved.

The order will be reviewed and further extended if necessary.

The Section 60 order covers the area shown on the map at the top of the article and was put into place in response to two incidents last night.

The first happened at about 6.50pm. Members of the public reported two males on scooters wearing balaclavas and carrying a machete in the Daylesford Grove area of Cippenham.

Police attended the scene, but the two males had fled the scene.

The second occurred at approximately 9.30pm.

Members of the public reported a fight involving a group of males, also in the Daylesford Grove area.

Two 22-year-old men from Slough have been arrested on suspicion of affray and remain in police custody at this time.

We continue to appeal for information related to these incidents and would ask anyone with information to please go to our website or call 101 quoting reference number 43210254291.
