SUPER Thursday is now over, and some parts of the country have already started counting. So, when will we know the Slough results?

Voters across England took to the polls on May 6 to choose local councillors, mayors, and police and crime commissioners.

Elections were meant to take place last year but were called off due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A by-election also took place in Hartlepool to choose a new MP, which the Conservatives won for the first time since the constituency’s formation in 1974.

In Slough, electors voted for candidates in one of 15 wards, except for Colnbrook with Poyle.

There are 14 seats for grabs at the council, seven seats at Wexham Court Parish Council, and electors could also vote for a candidate standing for Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner.

As a reminder, here’s Slough Borough Council’s current political make-up:

When can we expect the Slough local election results?

Some local authorities have already started their count, such as Reading, and will soon announce their winners and losers.

Slough, on the other hand, is not counting on Friday but is instead verifying the ballots for the local election and Police and Crime Commissioner.

This involves counting the total number of ballots cast in each election and must be completed before a count can commence.

Once that’s completed, counting of all 14 wards will begin on Saturday, May 8, at the Centre in Farnham Road.

Slough Observer:

Counting will start at 7am and is expected to end at 7pm.

The Local Democracy Reporting Service will be there on the day and will be reporting on the results for each ward when they are announced.

What about the Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner and the Wexham Court Parish Council by-election?

On Monday, May 10, counting will begin for the Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner as well as the Wexham Court Parish Council by-election.

The count for both is expected to start from 9:30am until finished.

Are there elections happening in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead?

There are no borough elections in the Royal Borough as they elect their councillors all in one go every four years.

However, there is a referendum on the Windsor Neighbourhood Plan and council vacancies for Cookham Parish Council and Eton Town Council, which will be counted today.

The Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner will also be counted on Monday, May 10.
