POLICE are investigating a theft after a car was stolen from outside a house in Windsor.

On Tuesday, April 27, police were called to Illingworth in Winsdor after a Grey Landrover Discovery was stolen from outside a property.

Officers said the car was stolen using keyless entry and because it had a tracker inside it was located in Slough.

Thames Valley Police said: "This car has keyless entry and is possibly part of a series, being carried out across the Met.

"Keyless car fobs must be protected, as they emit a signal, which can be copied – normal key fobs do not.  Keyless fobs must therefore be kept as far away as possible, from the front door – so - not in a bowl in the hallway."

Residents who have keyless entry cars are being told to keep the fob in a protected 'Faraday Cage' or an old tin.
