A HOTEL in Windsor will be launching a new Captain Sir Tom Moore Afternoon Tea when it reopens on May 17, 2021.

The afternoon tea has been created in collaboration with Captain Tom’s family and Castle Hotel Windsor will provide a 10 per cent contribution to The Captain Tom Foundation, for every afternoon tea sold.

The afternoon tea collaboration follows a visit to the hotel by Captain Sir Tom Moore and his family after he received his knighthood from Her Majesty The Queen at Windsor Castle.

The family had such a wonderful occasion celebrating over afternoon tea, that the hotel asked to dedicate a special afternoon tea in his name.

The Ingram-Moore family came to trial the Captain Sir Tom Moore Afternoon Tea last year and will be coming back to celebrate and launch the new tea on the hotel’s reopening day.

The Captain Sir Tom Afternoon Tea comprises all the traditional elements to a quintessentially afternoon tea.

Delectable dishes feature homemade finger sandwiches which include Captain Sir Tom’s favourite Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese and homemade pickle sandwich, alongside plain or jumbo fruit scones served with homemade berries of the forest jam and Devonshire clotted cream.

The hotel has also created mini pastries including Captain Sir Tom’s favourite creamy Victoria sponge cake, The Great British army fruit torte and a Hope chocolate opera cake in recognition of the mission of The Captain Tom Foundation – to inspire hope where it is needed most.

Guests can also enjoy a classic selection of traditional tea blends, fruit and herb infusions, as well as green teas from Darvilles of Windsor.
