A TOTAL of 36 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Berkshire in the past 24 hours, the latest figures show.
Public Health England has recorded 40 new lab-confirmed cases in the past 24 hours, in areas including Reading, Bracknell, Wokingham, West Berkshire, Slough and Windsor and Maidenhead.
These figures, correct as of Sunday, April 18, at 4pm, bring the latest total for the county to 56,228 cases.

The local breakdown for the past 24 hours as follows:
Bracknell Forest - 2 cases, 7,051 total
Wokingham - 4 cases, 8,176 total
Reading - 6 cases, 10,855 total
West Berkshire - 6 cases, 6,330 total
Windsor and Maidenhead - 1 case, 8,427 total
Slough - 17 cases, 15,389 total
There have now been 4,387,820 people across the UK who have tested positive for the virus.
The latest seven-day rate per 100,000 people locally are as follows:
Bracknell Forest - 30.2
Wokingham - 15.8
Reading - 26.6
West Berkshire - 14.5
Slough - 66.9
Windsor and Maidenhead - 25.8
In today's national Covid news:
The Government said a further 10 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Sunday, bringing the UK total to 127,270.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have been 151,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
The Government also said that, as of 9am on Sunday, there had been a further 1,882 lab-confirmed cases in the UK.
It brings the total to 4,387,820.
