MORE than 46,000 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Berkshire.

In the past 24 hours, Public Health England has recorded 516 lab-confirmed cases in areas including Reading, Bracknell, Wokingham, West Berkshire, Slough and Windsor and Maidenhead.

These figures, correct as of Saturday, January 23 at 4pm, bring the county's lab-confirmed positive Covid-19 tests total to 46,028, according to Public Health England.

The local breakdown for the past 24 hours as follows:

Reading - 100 cases, 8,876 total

West Berkshire - 58 cases, 5,051 total

Bracknell - 63 cases, 5,867 total

Wokingham - 75 cases, 6,882 total

Slough - 162 cases, 12,291 total

Windsor and Maidenhead - 58 cases, 7,061 total

There have now been 3,583,907 people across the UK who have tested positive for Covid-19.

The latest seven-day rate per 100,000 people locally are as follows:

Reading - 633

West Berkshire - 277.1

Bracknell - 372.9

Wokingham - 337.2

Slough - 940.9

Windsor and Maidenhead - 352
