Dedicated volunteers at Slough's Guru Maneyo Granth Gurdwara in Bath Road have accepted a special award for ‘community resourcefulness in response to Covid-19’.
It was presented at the London Faith & Belief Community Awards ceremony.
The Faith & Belief Forum has worked to build good relations between people of all faiths and beliefs for 20 years.

This year it introduced a special category to the awards, to celebrate those who had created new projects with a focus on assisting those affected by the pandemic.
Slough's GMGG is one of the U.K.’s largest Sikh temples.
Since March 2020 when Covid-19 closed all places of worship, its kitchen has stayed open to serve Langar to people all over the UK.

It has collaborated with over 130 charities, organisations and places of worship to provide over a million freshly cooked, nutritious, vegetarian hot meals to the homeless, needy & NHS staff, all over London - while distributing over 430 tonnes of fresh produce to charities, faith organisations and individuals.
Its food programme has been completely self-funded and no grants or monetary donations have been taken for this initiative.
