The People to Places charity has been awarded a grant of £5,300 towards its work opening up the world for older people.

The charity runs its famous Shopmobility scooters at the Coach Park in Windsor and Vanwell Business Park in Maidenhead, enabling people with mobility problems to get to the shops.

It also organises 'dial a ride' for older people who need a lift to the hospital or to an appointment.

There is also the Home to School service for children with mobility issues.

The welcome grant organised by the Berkshire Community Foundation - a charity helping individuals and businesses looking for good causes to support - came from the Pargiter Trust, which focusses on supporting older people.

The grant will help People to Places install screens and air filtration systems in its minibuses to protect passengers and drivers alike.

People to Places has not stopped working since the outbreak of the pandemic and we will continue to be there for the people of the Royal Borough, having first opened its doors in 1989.
