Creative students picked up their brushes and learnt a few skills from a local artist.

Marc Chaumeton visited Papplewick school in Ascot to teach Year 8 pupils tips on painting.

The artist from Farnham studied at Camden Arts Centre, Central School of Art and Design and Brighton Art School and has worked within the design and advertising industry.

He also produces his own commercial work where he paints for a small number of clients.

The students benefited from Mr Chaumeton's skills for their current project of painting orchids.

Tom Bunbury, headmaster at Papplewick expained how the art department at the school regularly gains scholarships to top UK public schools.

He said: "It was a great experience for the boys to welcome Marc into the art department, and they learnt much from him to help further with their work."
