A man who hit a pensioner on the head in a 'malicious' attack has been jailed.

Craig Steven Morris hit the 84-year-old man on the back of the head and he fell to the ground, leaving him with minor injuries.

The attack happened in Harrow Market in Langley on April 8.

Morris, of Harrow Road, Slough, pleaded guilty to one count of assault by beating in a hearing at Reading Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, October 14.

He was ordered to pay £100 in compensation as he was jailed for four months.

PC Sam Morris, based at Slough police station, said: “As the investigating officer in this case, I am delighted to get the result that this malicious act deserved and I am grateful that the victim did not come away from this with any long-lasting injuries.
