WE ASKED you what you thought of approved plans to transform a former strip club into a restaurant with a 24 hour takeaway service.

Slough Borough Council planning officers granted permission for the adult entertainment establishment, Tantric Blue – which is located on the A4 Colnbrook By-Pass – to be turned into a restaurant.

The applicant, Colnbrook Investments Limited, will only be doing internal renovations works on the 1750 building with an installation of a new extraction flue.

It is not yet known what or which restaurant/takeaway the site will be.

We asked Slough Observer readers what they thought of the plans.

Leila Al Halabi said: “It's foul and should have gone a long time ago.”

Doug Grant speculated: “Takeaway 24 hours a day, restaurant 6am to 2am. Sounds like a McDonalds or similar”, while Clint Tee inquired: “Why not a nightclub?”

Verity Bancroft said: “It’s too far out to work as a viable restaurant. Not exactly in idyllic surroundings and suitable for a destination place.”

Richard Harding eloquently said: “Great business plan – especially with the economic situation.

“The problem with that site is A) it’s either a taxi ride or bus ride to get there, a drink drive hotspot.

“B) because of the location and area, it’s not going to be cheap, expensive overheads i.e. council tax/electric wages.

“I’ve noticed over the years no business lasts long there. It needs to be for local workers, local people, and not be aiming at a higher wage earner. It will need to aim at working man wages, working class people to even have a chance of lasting more than one-two years.”
