Firefighters from Slough and Langley battled a house fire in Uxbridge Road for five hours yesterday (Thursday) after a member of the public reported smoke pouring from a first floor bedroom window soon after 8am.
Firefighters donned breathing apparatus and made a thorough search of the house when they arrived but the three occupants had left the building safely, although they were treated on the scene for smoke inhalation.
It took firefighters till gone 1pm to extinguish the fire and police attended to handle the necessary road closure.
The house is understood to be uninhabitable now as the door of the bedroom where the fire started was slightly ajar allowing the flames to get hold throughout the first floor and roof area.
Fire investigators attended the scene but the cause of the blaze is not believed to be suspicious.
