Calling all young aspiring directors, camera operators, art directors, actors, sound recordists or producers.

Applications are now open to 16 to 19-year-olds who would like to take part in workshops at Pinewood Studios next year that could lead to a qualification and the chance to make a career in film a reality.

The workshops will run for six Saturdays from January 16 at Pinewood Studios at Iver Heath or at Shepperton Studios in Surrey on six consecutive days from Monday, February 15.

If it is still unsafe to hold the courses personally they will take place digitally.

Marina Moore from Resource Productions which is running the course on behalf of the BFI Film Academy said: "Now more than ever it is important that teenagers in the local area are given the opportunity to express themselves in the creative industries. This age group has been amongst the worst hit in recent months but also lacks the exposure and experience needed to succeed.

"The BFI Film Academy has been specially designed to address this gap and aims to promote and highlight local talent by providing successful applicants with guidance and crucial experience as well as a qualification upon completion of the course."

She said the course was specifically targeted at teenagers in the Slough and Windsor area.

There are only 20 places available on the course so anyone interested should apply now at www.resource-productions.co.uk/training. The deadline is Monday, December 14 with interviews taking place on Sunday, January 10.
