An indomintable duo who helped their neighbours commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE Day in style back in May, have done it again - this time for VJ Day on Saturday.

Damian Delahunty and Stuart Moir have kept their neighbours in Knights Close, Windsor entertained throughout lockdown with 'live on the drive' performances from their home, notably for VE Day three months ago when Damian sang wartime songs and Stuart read the king's speech while dressed in uniform.

Saturday was the anniversary of VJ Day and the pair did not disappoint.

They decorated their drive to look like Japan, using palm trees, bamboo and camouflage nets.

Their friends musician John Seaman and Britain's Got Talent veterans the Skin and Blister Sisters (Avril and Rosie) helped Damian provide the music, while neighbour Jason Howard-Ady saw to the barbecue.

The star of the show was a WW2 Daimler Scout car (Dingo) army vehicle which Damian and Stuart had persuaded Combermere Barracks to loan them, which the children in the road were able to have a look around.

Saturday's performance opened with Stuart dressed as King George VI giving an authentic speech by the king, followed by Damian singing Whispering Grass as done in the famous TV sit com It Ain't Half Hot Mum which was set in Burma.

Then it was time for an evening of wartime music, good cheer and gratitude to a previous generation of 'super heroes'.

Damian and Stuart's event raised £420 for the Royal British Legion.
