A SHISHA lounge has resubmitted a licensing application to play music following noise complaints from residents.
In February 2020, a warrant was granted to Slough Borough Council officers to seize all disruptive speakers and noise-making equipment being played at ‘deafening levels’ at Akaya Lounge on the High Street.
A noise abatement notice was served last Christmas Eve following a series of complaints from residents about loud and intrusive music coming from the lounge.
All the speakers seized during the council’s raid were stored to be used in any future prosecution.

Any objections received will trigger a licensing sub-committee hearing for each party to make their case.
The 28-day application consultation period and representations made in writing ends on August 31.
Officers warn it is an offence to make false statements in connection with the application and is subject to a maximum fine of £5,000 and a summary conviction.
Representations can be made by emailing: licenising@slough.gov.uk
