Care home staff at Sandown Park in Windsor have had their hard work during the Covid-19 pandemic recognised, in a special week of appreciation.

The home in Vale Road is part of the Healthcare Homes Group, which operates 45 residential and 12 home care branches. The group launched its very own Appreciation Week as a sign of its gratitude to its staff.

Throughout the week, its care homes and branches were visited by members of the executive team, and special events were held while carefully adhering to Covid restrictions.

Sandown Park in Vale Road which is rated as ‘outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission supports to up to 95 people, many of whom live with dementia.

The team was visited by the group’s CEO, Gordon Cochrane, who joined them for a celebratory buffet while also marking the home’s 10 year anniversary.

Gordon delivered gifts and individual letters to the team, along with a specially designed canvas print to be displayed in the home.

Gordon said: “So many of the Sandown Park team have gone to significant lengths to support residents and their families during lockdown and these efforts have been recognised by us all. We are very proud and grateful for everything they have done."

Manager Shahnaaz Mohamad said: “It was excellent to take some time out to really consider the last few months, thank the entire team and to spend some time with Gordon, who was very sincere with his encouragement and thanks. I am very proud of the outstanding work my whole team does to support our residents every day.”
