Burglars who ran at a woman with a knife and repeatedly punched a teenage girl in the head are being sought by police.

The thugs struck at 2.45pm on Wednesday, July 15 after getting into the back garden of a house in Priors Road, Windsor - either from an adjoining alleyway or from Mantle Close.

A woman in her 40s who lives there heard them in the garden and shouted at the two men - who ran towards her. One was holding a knife.

The two offenders then went upstairs and one of them punched a teenage girl there two or three times to the head before they ran out of the property..

Neither victim was hurt and no property was taken.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Steven Baggaley of Maidenhead police station, said: “This was terrifying for both victims.

“Thankfully neither sustained any injuries, however this was a particularly distressing incident." Police have released CCTV images of two men they would like to talk to.
