A man was apprehended a short distance away after crashing a stolen car into a river and attempting to swim from police.

Officers from the Met Taskforce and National Police Air Service assisted officers from the Thames Valley Police's road policing unit after the stolen Audi A4 made off near Iver.

The driver then crashed into a river and attempted to escape from officers by swimming away.

He was apprehended close to the scene of the crash.
