The Castle Hotel in Windsor has reopened its doors - days after welcoming a legendary early guest for tea.
Captain Sir Tom Moore and his family visited for tea after receiving his knighthood from the Queen at another famous castle - Windsor Castle - bang opposite the hotel. The great man had raised £33million for health service charities in the run up to his 100th birthday..
The Castle Hotel dates from the 18th century and is now part of the MGallery Collection.
The Royal Borough's mayor Cllr Sayonara Luxton cut the ribbon on Friday to officially open the hotel which had been closed since March because of lockdown.
General Manager Sam Goss said, “We couldn’t be more thrilled to be opening our doors today. We have a fantastic team that are delighted to be reunited and preparations have been made to ensure our guests are well looked after and safety measures and protocols are in place."
During the current health crisis guests will be provided with individual sanitisers, wipes and masks.
Social distancing measures have been put in place in the hotel’s dining areas.
