TWO new coronavirus cases were recorded in Bracknell Forest over the weekend.

Public Health England figures show 387 COVID-19 cases have been noted in the borough as of Sunday, July 26.

This is up from 385 on Thursday, July 23.

There were also six more recorded cases in Reading over the same period and seven more in West Berkshire.

There were also small increases in Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead and Wokingham, too.

Bracknell Forest has the least number of cases in the county, while Reading has the most with 793 as of 26 July.

But in terms of rate of infection, the borough stands at 318 cases per 100,000 people.

This is a higher rate than in Windsor and Maidenhead and West Berkshire, but lower than in Reading, Slough and Wokingham.

The health body is now including Pillar 2 tests – those carried out by commercial partners – alongside Pillar 1 tests, which are analysed in NHS or PHE laboratories and which made up the first stage of the Government's mass testing programme.
