3. Reading responds to closure of Pret in town centre

THE announcement that a Reading branch of cafe Pret will not be reopening due to lockdown losses has left locals "gutted".

The popular coffee chain announced the permanent closure of the Broad Street shop in the town centre, but The Oracle branch will remain open.

4. Khairi Saadallah due at the Old Bailey over Reading terror attack

A MAN accused of stabbing three friends to death while rampaging through Reading's Forbury Garden's is due to appear in court today.

Khairi Saadallah, 25, is charged with murdering James Furlong, 36, David Wails, 49, and Joseph Ritchie-Bennett, 39, in the attack.

5. Decision next week on controversial The Heights school stay at temporary home

A school's controversial stay at temporary buildings in Caversham is expected to be approved by the council next week despite neighbours' complaints.

Neighbours have slammed plans for The Heights Primary School to extend its stay at temporary accommodation on Gosbrook Road for another year, until August 31, 2021.
